Anwendung verschiedener Elementtypen und Materialgesetze bei der geotechnischen Modellierung eines Dammes auf säulenarteigen Traggliedern

This paper presents the various features of using ANSYS for calculating the load - settlement behav-iour of a great dam in northern Germany. The dam, which has a height of about 9 m, is founded on geotextile coated columns being placed in soft soil. The necessities for making an expert opinion for this innovative foundation concept are listed below:
• Dimensioning of the geotextile coated columns
• Reliable prediction of the settlements for all construction steps
• Precise Estimation of the dam-deformations especially the horizontal movements
Therefore two types of models have been developed.
The single column model contains of SOLID 45/95 elements (soft-soil and column material) and LINK 10 using the slack cable option (geotextile).
The model of the hole dam, which has to be about 190 m wide, was build up with idealised columns (transfer of the results from the single-column-model). The construction steps (production of the geo-textile coated columns, building of the dam) and the load steps (net weight and differential water-pressure) were summarised in macros. Additional several parts of the soft soil have to be treated indi-vidually as they will be stabilised by vacuum-consolidation (Menard-procedere).
The DRUCKER-PRAGER-option was used to get the strength of the materials into account.

Anwendung statistisch-stochastischer Methoden bei der kontinuumsmechanischen Berechnung der Widerstands-Setzungslinie pfahlartiger Bauteile

This paper presents the principles of statistic - stochastic calculations of loading and settlement of piles.
At first the mechanical behaviour of the ground (f. eg. the young's modulus) is described by statistical methods in order to classify the material. With a so called random-assignment-method the FE-model is build up with these classified elements.
This model allows easy calculations to determine the probability of different loadings respectively dif-ferent settlements. The evaluation of the safety factor is much more efficient and sometimes allows more economic design compared with a deterministic analysis.
The presented calculation were carried out with ANSYS®.

Jet-grouting for a large and watertight building-pit

A deep and watertight building pit is under construction. 12.000 jet-grouted single-columns have to be produced for the construction of a jet-grouting slab. The slab has to be stable and watertight. The static requirements result from a waterpressure of about 160 kPa. The single columns have to adhere to very strict geometric requirements in order to achieve watertightness. 1800 vertical anchors secure the slab against buoyancy. The soil around the anchors is improved by jet grouting which results a very high bearing capacity of each single anchor.
